Veins of an Orange, Yam's new book, tells about the lives of characters who lose themselves in surreal or absurd moments. The stories, written both before and after October 7, take place in the humid summer of Tel Aviv, in the winding streets of Old Jerusalem, and in abstract spaces between Israel and the US. Through this new book, we will reflect on the surreal dimensions of “Israeliness” in relation to questions of the absurd in the feminine body, melancholic masculinity, and the yearning for belonging. Come ready to stretch your imagination and enter worlds where the familiar and the fantastic intertwine.
While the book is in Hebrew, the conversation will take place in English.
